Gifted Gift Number 1:

One of the best gifts that you can get for your younger child is a nice durable chess set. When I was introduced to chess by my Grandfather when I was 4, I instantly started to learn the game and hone my skills, even now 10 years later, I can barely beat my Grandfather. This just goes to show, that even if the rules are easy to pick up, the game can take forever to master. This intellectual game will delight your gifted child for hours on end. If no one in your house plays chess, or you think you are going to tire out after the 5th game, then look into buying a simple computer game, there are many on the market, and all of them will help your child learn valuable skills. If your child already owns a chess set, consider giving them another old board game, Go. The Japanese game is played by people of all skill levels, and it too should allow your child to work their brain in new and exciting ways. By giving your child the gift of timeless game, you are giving them skills they can use for the rest of their life, and they will play chess the rest of their days.
